It's also got a lot in common with Kingdom Rush and that's no bad thing, e.g. in-lane warriors, missile strikes and para-troopers are similar to KR's knights, meteor strike and re-enforcements, but it's all sufficiently different that I feel that this is money well spent. The pacing is nice, perhaps a little slow, but some of the linked tower upgrades are fantastic and the pacing might be required to introduce you to them. Linked upgrades mean that you don't just build, say, a flame-tower. Instead you build a MG-tower, upgrade its range, which unlocks a ranger tower. Upgrade the ranger tower with rockets and that finally unlocks the flamer. It's a neat system and reasonably logical so you don't have too much to remember. But it adds flexibility to your strategy overall. If you like TD generally and you like Kingdom Rush especially, you'll love this - it's slickly done and dirt cheap for the quality on offer.A few videos have noted that there's no option to change music\/effects volumes, but you can at least togglel each on\/off.. So fun, buy it!. Alien Robot Mosters is a towed defence game that has been extended into multiple evenings worth of fun in planning, optimising and executing the kill-alley operation in order to prevent those waves of mechanical monstrosities from getting their hands on your settler population. Game presents a steadily rising challenge with tower choices where there are no universal winners in lane clearing power thus requiring experimentation and adaptation for each level if you want to get through all levels undamaged. Each tower is sufficiently different from another and in some cases even benefit from manual control from the user as in the case of redeployable marines and their derivatives. There are multiple cases where the optimal solution consists of re-prioritizing their focus in mid-level. Upgrading towers doesn't simply increase damage and range, but ofter changes completely the mode of operation. A great example of this is that one upgrade path from the tech tower is a satellite-based weapon that shoots any targets from off-map. There's also units that are resilient or weak to certain types of damage. In many strategic games the main focus is in gameplay leaving visuals and audio as secondary, but in developers of ARM have not taken a shortcut here. The soundtrack is great, I like the voicing with the humour it has, sound effects are lively and the semi-retro 2d graphics fit the game perfectly. My verdict for ARM is that it’s a solid tower-defence which doesn’t try to be all around revolutionary, but does everything it strives for with top-notch quality without compromises.. For 5 dollars (or less) this game is excellent. This is effectively a Kingdom Rush clone with some heart, so it is a strong recommendation if you enjoy these types of TDs.+Decent length campaign. 40sh levels.+Voice acting has charm and stood out, I laughed at a few responses and they do not get tiring.+Decent number of towers to choose from+Lots of stuff to upgrade+Bug Free+-There are no difficulty options. I would consider this game in the medium difficulty range. Be prepared to restart a few levels to figure out which towers are needed.-Tower upgrade path when building is wonky/cumbersome. Some upgrades spent on towers can be "lost" since the upgrade you bought does not transition to the type of tower you upgraded to.-Nothing to do after campaign is over.-No Hotkeys, key rebinding. I really enjoyed playing this game, it satisfied all my personal preferences for being a superb Tower Defence experience.1. Lots of towers with a complex upgrade system, means you have towers suited to every conceivable scenario.2. Clear, detailed 2D graphics, reminiscent of the earlier C&C titles.3. Inter-level upgrade system that gives you a sense of improvement as you complete levels and encourages you to get perfect scores.4. Large variety of enemies that do not attack towers.5. Barracks towers that spawn units used to block enemies. Nice variety and upgrade options for these units.6. Boss enemies spaced evenly throughout the game, it gives a great sense of tension when they first appear.7. Minimal plot that doesn't get in the way of the gameplay.8. New towers and upgrades are unlocked at a regular pace as you progress through the game. There are a few negative points.About three of the levels have a huge jump in difficulty compared to previous levels, where a very specific tower layout is required to win. This inflexibility significantly detracts from what makes this game so much fun, which is the choice in how you go about preventing the enemy from reaching their goal. Fortunately these levels are isolated, with the difficulty returning to normal after you complete them,The game could be clearer in some aspects of the upgrade system but once you become familiar with the upgrade paths and which upgrades carry over to more advanced towers (there are only 2) it all becomes fairly intuitive, Some more tower animations would be nice. The graphics have fantastic detail on the whole but in other areas they are oddly lacking, such as the missile tower projectiles appearing from nowhere.
