I always ask myself, if there are so many owners of older bikes and the same accident has happened to all of them, why aren't there class action suits brought by all the owners against all the Bicycle Manufacturers? Q: How to synchronize reader-writer locks I have a class that uses reader-writer locks to provide read-write locks to different threads. I run some tests with a queue in the background and 4 threads. I get the following results: If the writer sets the lock and waits for it, then no new reader thread can enter. If the reader sets the lock and then waits for it, then only one of the two threads in the queue can enter. If the reader waits for it and tries to set it before the writer is done, the writer automatically releases it. If the reader sets the lock and then tries to wait for it, the wait is rejected.
